Kligler Iron Agar (KIA) is a differential medium used to identify enteric bacteria based on their ability to ferment glucose and lactose and produce hydrogen sulfide. This medium contains peptones, lactose, glucose, sodium thiosulfate, and phenol red as a pH indicator to detect fermentation reactions. It is widely used in clinical laboratories to distinguish organisms like Salmonella, Shigella, and E. coli. Available in various packaging formats to meet your laboratory needs.
