Nutrient broth is a common non-selective culture medium in microbiology. It supports the growth of a wide range of non-fastidious bacteria. Peptone and yeast extract supplies vital amino acids, peptides, vitamins, and minerals required for the growth of microorganisms. Sodium chloride preserves the osmotic equilibrium of the medium.
Nutrient broth is used in many different microbiological processes, including enrichment, culture maintenance, and purity evaluation before further biochemical or immunological testing.
 
Storage
Keep the container at 15-30 °C and prepared medium at 2-8 °C.
