In PCR, Brilliant Green is used for monitoring the progress of DNA amplification by binding to double stranded DNA. Binding ability of Brilliant Green to DNA, also, prevent transcription and replication by preventing the binding of RNA polymerase.
In wastewater treatment, antimicrobial property of Brilliant Green is used to inhibit the growth of Aerobacter aerogenes.
In microbial culture media preparation, Brilliant Green is used as a pH indicator.
